Does anyone know of a place around here that sells race fuel? 100-110 Octane?
I know of a place where I can get 55 GAL drums of the stuff but I dont know if I want to put out that amount of money for fuel.
Thanks,
Adam

I know that the Orange Market on the corner of Courthouse RD and Newbys Bridge road in Chesterfield has it, right off 288. I also think that the Amaco now a BP at Genito and Rt 360 has it also. That too would be in Chesterfield, outside of there I do not know anyplaces.

I have the sheet at home but he is a old-timer hotrod guy out in Gordonsville, Va.
I think I saw 110 for 255.00? for 55 gal.. I have to check the sheet that I have at home.
4.63/gal or so.. he has a few different octanes.

SUNDANCE PERFORMACE in Gordonsville sells 103 Oct. I think its like 2.50 a gal. or somethin like that ...

2.50/Gal isnt bad at all considering we pat 163/gal for shitty 93.

I don't know about the BP on 360 selling race gas but I believe Style's Buy Rite (right next to the BP) does.

If I ran 87 octane my car would blow up. See with boost/high compression you need the stability of higher octane so that you do not get ping/knock (ignition of the air/fuel mixture before the piston is at the correct position to utilize the combustion of the two.)

With the factory ecu in my Talon it has a "knock sensor" screwed into the back of the block. When this sensor hears knock the ecu retards timing in-turn robbing me of power.
The higher octane raises the threshold of knock so that I can run more aggressive timing and boost without the ill effects of knock.

So there is a benefit of running higher octane when you enter high compression and or boost into the equation.

Welcome to the board nic!

I know...just making the point that my car doesn't run any faster with the higher octane than it does on the 87.

Right on...
I was just making a point that on some cars octane makes a huge difference in performance when the car is tuned for it.

well nic, at only 10* of timing, you'll never run any better on racing fuel (fuggin white boyz geez!) lol

aed over on willis road sells race fuel. it's the purple shish (not the cheesy blue shish that orange market sells). im still debatin how long i wanna wait to put some of that in the 4pak thou lol

That is the key right there....

I have a program for 93 and a program for 100 oct....

You can get 100oct Unleaded or 106 leaded @ DANCO on Williamsburg Road in the east end. There is a SUNOCO off 95 near Godfathers that has 106 Cam 2. There are a few places on 360 but I have not been to them before.

The GT 100 unleaded is the best for fuel injected cars. Works VERY well and only $2.99 a gallon....

hey dublo....

um, do you drive a civic like ur user name states? or a talon? jw. and what kinda compression are u runnin with that turbo talon anyway?

(and yes to all u paroosers, im tryin to look for a race :D )

I drive a white AWD Talon and I have a 93 civic SI hatch that I am working on... looking for low 10's-high 9's street driven.
I go to the Movie Muti-plex (whatever that place is called) off of 66 every once in a while.. but not Target.
The eagle runs a little higher than stock 2G compression.

Umm...try 18 degrees base...you'd be amazed what a set of aluminum heads can accomplish :D
