she decided to die on me pulling into a parking spot....steering locked, and brakes had no pressure...hmmm e-brake...tooo late. atleast i know the air-bags work..and i have a reason to fix my cracked windshield...that pole was supposed to jump out of the way...guess it proved to be the stronger object..

How fast were you going when you hit the pole? No 5mph bumpers for that car.

5 mph bumpers my ass...between 5-10. came from over a speed bump, and my car has no way of flyin over a bump. trust me...j-bodies are not the car to have an accident in(what-so-ever). pleanty have been put out of commission cause of somethin small.

that sucks...sorry to hear. So your calling mechanical(engine) failure on your mishap? hope it will not raise your insurance.
Get a carbon fiber hood ;)
Bandit

thought about ram-air or carbon fiber hood, but you know how insurance, and dealership body shops are....im getting my car fixed, so i cant really complain at all if ya know what i mean.
dealer's still dealing with estimates, and claims adjusters from that ice over last wednesday so it may be a while...

am I the only one that thinks that looks like bullshit?
look at the hood and look how the car is hitting the pole. ther is no way it pushed the hood that far back without smashing the lower part of the car as well.
look like you rear ended a truck to me.

hummm......after looking at it again , it look likes he hit something else.... or must be the law of inertia
:D
the car looks like it hit the pole with a super glue on it. it did not separate after contact lol.

the front bumper pops back out(as ive demonstrated a few times at autox) and after i hit the pole i rolled it back a little bit so i could get a better look at the damage...if you were to get a look at the hood, and where everything is damaged you'd see that. the radiator/core support is dented in(straight down to the bottom).
if i hit a truck dont you think there'd be some scratches on the hood...

For real . my friend totalled his z24 last year right before x-mas ... it was lowered and he rolled up under a blazer , and they way the motor was in his car , the throttle body got smash in wide open position and kemp jamming his car under the blazer till he pushed in the clutch ... airbags came out and all , and he only hit the guy at like 10mph ... but the whole front end was :wow:

yeah...the 2.4l(in the z-24 and s-fire gt) throttle body is right up front, and the way the cable is once you hit something, it gets stuck open...thank god mine is behind the engine..
yeah thats coolant under the car..

DUDE! WTF? well it's good to know it didn't do much damage to you. And I see your car was in good hands, too. Skipper to the rescue.
Oh and are you getting your car worked on at the Hall Body shop? If so, get out of there. They do shitty work. I know, I've seen the vehicles that we've sent over from mazda and they always come back cover in rust and over-spray. I would recommend that you take it to Greenbrier Collision Center(behind Greenbrier Olds), you won't have to wait for 2 months. Just letting you know.
