View Full Version : Any experience with a Ninja 500R?
Hey everyone, Ive been interested in rideing a bike for the past few years and ive finialy signed up for a class in July and im looking for my first bike. Ive mostly been looking at what everyone else is posting and getting most my information from that. As i have been looking around i havent noticed many comments on the Ninja 500R. Anyone have any personal experience on one? How do they compare to the GSX or the R-6? Thanks and hope to see you on the road in August.

Compared to a GSX or R-6, they are extremely weak. But if your intrest is to get out on a moderately cheap bike and be comfortable learning, go with the Ninja 500, ive been told they are great beginers bikes. :)

its a whole different bike than the gsxr or r6 or anything, but a great beginner bike... they can be picked up for cheap and are learner friendly and i'd imagine cheap to insure
Do you think that this bike would get outgrown quick? Would it be better to pick up a Zx-6 or R6 than to get a 500R? Just wondering what yalls personal opinions are. I really wouldnt want a bike that i would probly outgrow in a year. Thanks

a mid to late 90's ZX6R wouldn't be a bad choice and you would definetly be able to ride it longer with out getting bored... my friend Patrick has a 96 ZX6R and he leaves me BAD in turns its unreal, and i'd consider myself an above average rider, so theres more potential in the bike than its year might suggest... but a 500r you probably would out grow in a season
Thanks for the advice. I really wish i would have thought about the motorcycle course sooner so i didnt have to sign up for late july. Im pretty excited about getting on the roads!

Well look at it this way, you could have signed up even later and been stuck in a class that was past summer ;)
