I found something today. Great news if true. Recenty I did some bad things like speeding and and just being dumb. and had to do some hard work for the city. As I was about to go home. I started talking to 2 of the city worker guys. after a while of speaking to them. They told me of a new project that they would start work on in like 6 months. a road but not for everyday driving but for racing. All they told me is it's to be about 3/4 mile long road in a line. and it's to be in Hampton in what is now woods near Betal park. I still have many questions. Does anyone know about this. i never hear of this till then. but if this right that's only like 10 or 15 mins away from me and that 's great news.
And no it is not the parkway a real racing strip
ef_what?

yeah, its the road that is across from amc 24. it cuts through hampton to newport news at harpersville, near peninsula catholic high school. i thought that spot was already hot, whenever i've driver on it to go to my friends house i've always seen a cop on it.

that would be hampton roads center parkway, its opend up now and gaining traffic but back when they started building it that was a good place to race until the people in the houses started whining every time and cops started coming.

Um, ok, if he just heard this, and they start work on it in 6 months. Do you think you'd be driving on it already?
All I'm saying is, if it's true, it could be something positive. Something to keep street racers out of the police problem book?

i doubt they would put a drag strip in the middle of hampton anyways, but i heard langley was getting a 1/4 mile strip, dont know if its true though.

i wonder how much it would cost to get a couple of us together to pave our own street........gettin land, asphalt, and all that shit.....anyone got a clue? it could be possible if we all get together and work something out. just a suggestion

that doesnt sound right. they would have to get lisences and legalize racing on some road made for us. i doubt it would happen. they would be responible for all the accidents and it would cuz great legal issues....... what ever i just said.

gat dammit! .........hm....well. correct me if i'm wrong, but private property laws are those that give us rights to do whatever we want on our own shit? and maybe like the people that do race, make sure they got insurance n shit like that before we let em go off and burn tires....you make good points hombre. there has got to be some way though.meh...i'll keep brainstorming

you to also have a good point. but i know if the city builds it then we have no chance. but i dont if we bring this issue to the city council theyll prolly laugh at us unless we have SPONSERS. then i bet we have a really good chance. but it would have to be a HUGE place. just image all those damn peeps that would be out there. my god you would have to have an appointment just to get out on the line. all the muscle cars would would prolly cram the place. so we would have to get prolly more than one place.

Well, unless it's free and uncrowded it's a waste of money.
"correct me if i'm wrong, but private property laws are those that give us rights to do whatever we want on our own shit"
WRONG! you still have to have a permit to do shit like that. thats like saying if a tree is on my property i have the right to burn it down. yes you could cut it down legally, but burning would be arson, because it causes danger to both yourself and others. so does racing.
and sorry dude, but you are very ignorant in saying it would be all import. for one, i respect domestics. for another, which do you think a city officer would be seen driving, a riced out import, or a pure muscle v8? ive havent heard anything about this, but it wont happen, and if it does, you would get flocks of people, making it crowded, it would be a massive area with fights involved, and just to make another note, people would be setting up bets, and doing stupid shit, and no city would stand for this. as far as us taking a gathering an buying land and paving it, yeah right. you would need at least 3/4of a mile worth of land, at least 1/8 of a mile wide. you cant just use pavement. plus insurance problems, electrical, safety, etc.... it wont happen.

Anyone that ever goes out to a spot, likes to sit around and watch. I dont see that many people lining up to run. Seems like people are afraid to have fun anymore. It's all about your reputation now. :o

is it a setup?
most people are afraid to run because of cops. so if this was legal youd see 10x more people lining up. i know i would in a heartbeat, and usually i just watch when i got out on sat nights.

people are not afriad of th cops or they wouldn't be out there in the first place. I agree with nighthawk but it is becoming even more harder to make a reputation. I guess times like these show who the true people are.

you know, nevermind. as long as pessimistic attitudes keep gettin in the way of trying something out, its not worth it. sometimes i am glad that i am reenlisting. means i got the possibility to go somewhere where people might actually do shit instead of complaining about it, and NOT doing a god damn thing. there are only a few good people i know left in this area who will do shit. and those are the ones i'll stick with. otherwise, everyone else that likes to sit and "watch" can go to hell. its about the cars, its about the races, its about the wins. i'm done.
