C'Ville Meet Up

Hello,

Is there a meet up for Charlottesville? Late at night on Fri/Sat night I see a large group at the K-mart parking lot. Is this the meet? Is everyone welcomed here? Also what happened to The Wax Shop in town?

Okay cool. I was out last night around 10pm and saw a Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo out running lights; raced a 4 door civic LX and some little hatchback VW. Kmart was some what full but nothing really packed. We all should meet up somewhere in C'ville one night and just cruise and start our own group. I've seen cops at K-mart too many times also. Let me know.

LOL the cruise area/hangouts (cept Wal Mart obviously) in Lynchburg is pretty much the same since my mom was out cruising in her friends MG. So 6-7 years isn't that bad.

Though if anyone wants to get a meet up and once I get my car back and running lemme know I'm always up for some interesting action.

I rode out to Sheets in Orange one weekend cause I heard people race out there ... but the only cars I saw were a couple of RICERS admiring a 88 Celica GTS's brand new APC WING ... haha ... yeah thats pretty much all ive seen ... TEAM APC up here ... so if anyone can fill me in on where non dumb asses chill then please inform me ...

alot of bodykits and neons is all you will find it orange.. i won't even go into town on the weekends so i won't have to deal with them.

yeah we need to get together all the actual real car people one night in C-ville.. i'll be back there in a week again when school starts back up.. there is a real lack of cars that don't suck up there..

We used to race all the time till I got busted for racing a mustang in my civic. There is nothing to really do or anywhere to meet up now without the cops coming by and asking you to leave. I would like to meet up sometime. I have 2 240sx's now so besides the plates the cops won't recognize me.

Well I got rid of the civic, but it had a b18c1 with port and polished head, crower drag cams, jdm 4-1, skunk2 intake manifold. Best time was 13.3 @ 100. Dynoed 176 and 121.

and yeah, kmart is pretty ricey.. taht's why we need to find all the REAL car people and get everyone out together in a rice free spot.. check out each others rides and talk and shit.. and if there is seriously good places to run maybe get in a few runs..

Alright well I'm willing to meet up even if we can't race or anything, what about the parking lot infront of Advance Auto in Shoppers World by Ragazzis in C'ville? Like at 9:30 on fri/sat night? No one is usually up there and I'd think with a small group of 20 or less it shouldn't cause that much of a trouble. Another idea I had is the McDonalds on Ridge street across from the Omni hotel. It has a big parking lot and usually pretty empty. Just my ideas, probably bad ones but yeah. Thanks everyone for responding to the thread.

OK got the 95 240 running tonight. So I have something to drive now if we meet up. Man the car has a toggle for 7lbs or 10lbs of boost 10lbs. is much faster. I need to get the boost up to around 15lbs though. My 91 has the silvia front end on it allready. That is going to be the race car.

I remember when all the mustangs used to hang out in the advanced parking lot. The cops ran everyone out of there too.

Whats up everybody. I am one of the friends HighPSI TSi Guy (Dave) was talking about. 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Fully built and on low boost for the winter. Plates are TRBO PWR. I hear that a lot of people see me around so a few may recognize me.

The K-Mart crowd has a lot of nice people but very few fast cars. I cruise through a couple fri-sats a month to see if anyone has new fast stuff out. There is a cool guy with a new MKIV NA down there now along with a good number of Mustangs and a few F-Bodies. There was a Z06 that showed up often but didn't run from my understanding, he would probably be top dog currently.

I am up for any type of get together, whether it be to run or just chill at some bars... I would definitely like to check out Slivics 240's as I owned one before my 3rd Gen RX-7 and Talon, and have a friend performing a SR20 swap sometime soon. I'm on AIM 9-6 Mon-Fri IanJSaul. -Ian

I paid 2700 shipped for my sr20 swap. I can get front clips for 2500 but shipping is $700. The front clips can be found with the silvia front end, but they are around 3000.

90formula350, I have met greaser before he is a nice guy. I watched him run 11.50's up at MIR in november.

Ian- I think I have seen your car before. My friend Adam has a 95 talon with a big 16g and some other mods. His cousin Jeff has a turbo b16a crx and Ben aka JSPEC has one of the fastest all motor street hondas in the country. The four of us got into imports a while back, but none of us go out that much. BTW I have never used aol's im system.

Again I would like to meet up with everyone, hopefully time will permit. My schedule at work should change to m-f soon, so I will have more time on the weekends.

i have advanced ignition timing, intake, strut tower bracing, and some weight reduction...not too many mods right now because i had to put money into a new clutch and diff., i blew up my last open diff. I am installing racing beat underdrive pulleys in a few weeks and im gonna invest in a greddy turbo kit this summer. flyin miata is nice, but too pricey for me. i installed the rx7 maf a few months ago, but could never get my fueling correct for it to work out for me, so i have it sitting around.

Nice sounds good. The open diffs don't last much long at all. Most guys that add the Flyin Miata kits usually blow out the open ones within a week.

Yep had some stickers on it. A well driven Z06 is capable of what stock? A 12.3? That would be the fastest thing I have ever seen on the streets around here in my 8+ years of being here. I have heard rumor of a few fast Honda Hatches but never seen them.

My car did run 11.90's on radials with the new changes I hope to run 10's on a radial. If something running low 12's is the fastest thing you've seen you need to get out more. I know many mustangs running low 7's (1/8th mile).

My car is a red lx with chrome ponys, saleen wing and a little whistle.

ERICS50 is a mostly stock car only runs low 9's I think.

Most people around here only run 1/8 mile thats why I gave times in the 1/8th. Low 7's in the 1/8th mile are mid to low 11's 1/4 mile.

I meant to tell you Dave about that. I saw a white 2G TSi make a run down 29S near Taco Bell, and I immediately called Adam since I was 100% that was his car. I didn't get an answer on his cell phone, so I started driving home. Pulled over at the Shell station for gas and I saw the white 2G getting ready to turn in. I was like WTF that is Adams car.

So Travis (who I had met before but when he drove his Honda) and I started talking and I turned out to be correct.

Congratulations on the new ride Travis. I'm hitting the Dyno on Friday and then going to the Shootout near the end of this month. I may be hitting the track up on this Saturday in Waynesboro if you want to come. I can introduce you to the ET Motorsports crew. -Ian

I had to sell unfortunately. I got fawking screwed being layed off and having to move into my new place and pay for 3000 dollars worth of parts for the civic. It all hit me at one time and it sucks.
Yea I got your call when I was in New Hampshire on vacation and meant to call you back but I got caught up.....
I miss it already :( Oh well I have to get my shit straight. Once I get a decent job Ill have a little something :) should be soon!

Nothing special as far as I know, but sometimes Eastside is taken up by pre-scheduled events and whatnot.
