I am putting together information and feedback for a new club. For now it's going to feature Preludes of all generations. Maryland has a fenominal club that is continuously growing (MDPC), and it would be nice to have a VA club... makes sense, right? Well anyway, here are a few items that i've based my ideas on.

1. This club will NOT promote illegal street racing
2. With growth to this club, sponsorship would be a strong possibility (i.e. discount parts and/or freebies)
3. Will and determination to stick with the club (one time visitors need not apply)
4. Cars will be graded into 3 categories (based on mods of course)
5. Monthly meetings would take place to determine where the club is going, and 4 elected people would organize different functions there of
6. A website will be posted with ALL active members with pictues of cars/stats/gen
7. Meets will be organized in ordinance with private/commercial officials. These meets will ALWAYS welcome cars whom wish to compete of any make/model as long as the safety standards and rules are followed for events such as an Auto X.
8. Inconsiderate and law disobedient members will be expelled from the club (i.e. reckless driving, stupidity by endangering others on the roads)
9. As long as your old enough to drive, you are eligible to be a member of the club.
10. Passion for your car.

You don't have to have mods to be in the club. Just owning a Prelude itself is what makes and breaks ya. Depending on the turnout of reply's from this msg, I may change the car category to Honda/Acura. There are tons of Civics and Integras out there that are great, but my primary focus is on Preludes. You can live in any part of the US and AGAIN depending on how many people are interested we will organize this in a fair manner. If your a Civic/Integra/TL/CL/Accord/Hybrid/Insight or other model, I welcome your opinions as well. I have 2 reasons why I want to make this happen... first and foremost I hate seeing people wanting to race on the roads 'cause even though it seems exiting at the time it endangers others not involved including yourself. Secondly, more people have died on Burke Centre Pkwy in the past month alone than the whole 22+ years that i've been in and out of the area. Look lively and I await your responses.

I run the board over there at the MDPC, and I'd be more than happy to offer up what's worked and what hasn't worked over there if you'd like to hear it.

Just shoot me a PM if you've got interest. We're still growing, and there have been SERIOUS growing pains along the way, I just wouldn't want you to go through the same things.

Good looking out Brandon. lol, REPRESENT!! :p

for a while i was serously thinking about starting a branch of the mdpc here in nova, but since i've been outta the state for much of the last three years, that never happened. If i wasn't selling the lude ( no comments) i'd definately be down for helping out.

it's a huge task and responsibility. i met a bunch of MDPC members back in January at an auto X in essex's community college parking lot. I was going to join, but unfortunately my job took me down to Miami, and I just came back in town a month ago. On top of that, last night some frickin deer ran into the side of my car last night while on the highway. I've gotta replace the fender and parking lamp.. but the shit could've been worse. I was actually laughing about it when it happened, but stopped when i saw all the deer spit on the hood.

But hey, thanks for the reply Vapor. I'm sure i'll have questions for ya sometime soon.

Nicey. I'm going to put together a meeting in about 2 weeks. This will of course include more information regarding criteria. Even if you don't have mods the fact that you own one gets you in. There won't be any entree fees to join the club. Why pay to be a part of a click anyway? MORE PRELUDES WANTED!

Depending on the price of the decals (bulk purchase), I'd probably get the first 10 decals to the first 10 members free. Afterwards it would be a small charge. I'm currently looking into it and i'll get back to ya shortly. not a 100% guarantee, but it would be nice.

If you live in VA or around it, you're more than welcome to join. There will be a meeting on Dec. 4th, which is on a Thursday. There will be one more meeting later in the month before Xmas to get the official guidlines in. The club will effectively launch on the 31st of December. More details will follow later. Remember, if you're reading this and don't own a prelude but someone you know does, recommend these posting to others.

Hopefully the website will officially begin within the first 2 weeks of January, and will contain it's own Forum, pics of member rides, status, ect...

It's probably going to be in the evening anyway. I'm thinking 7:30ish. Not sure about location yet. I want to centralize it so it's a fair location for everybody. The Three places I have in mind are in either Springfield, Tysons Corner, or Fairfax. I'll have everything down pat by the end of tomorrow.

For those of you who have already expressed interest, i'm PM'ing you later today the time and location. It will be this Thursday, but i'm not trying to make it a hangout for others to come by and try to race or some stupid shit like that....
