I am putting together information and feedback for a new club. For now it's going to feature Preludes of all generations. Maryland has a fenominal club that is continuously growing (MDPC), and it would be nice to have a VA club... makes sense, right? Well anyway, here are a few items that i've based my ideas on.
1. This club will NOT promote illegal street racing
2. With growth to this club, sponsorship would be a strong possibility (i.e. discount parts and/or freebies)
3. Will and determination to stick with the club (one time visitors need not apply)
4. Cars will be graded into 3 categories (based on mods of course)
5. Monthly meetings would take place to determine where the club is going, and 4 elected people would organize different functions there of
6. A website will be posted with ALL active members with pictues of cars/stats/gen
7. Meets will be organized in ordinance with private/commercial officials. These meets will ALWAYS welcome cars whom wish to compete of any make/model as long as the safety standards and rules are followed for events such as an Auto X.
8. Inconsiderate and law disobedient members will be expelled from the club (i.e. reckless driving, stupidity by endangering others on the roads)
9. As long as your old enough to drive, you are eligible to be a member of the club.
10. Passion for your car.
You don't have to have mods to be in the club. Just owning a Prelude itself is what makes and breaks ya. Depending on the turnout of reply's from this msg, I may change the car category to Honda/Acura. There are tons of Civics and Integras out there that are great, but my primary focus is on Preludes. You can live in any part of the US and AGAIN depending on how many people are interested we will organize this in a fair manner. If your a Civic/Integra/TL/CL/Accord/Hybrid/Insight or other model, I welcome your opinions as well. I have 2 reasons why I want to make this happen... first and foremost I hate seeing people wanting to race on the roads 'cause even though it seems exiting at the time it endangers others not involved including yourself. Secondly, more people have died on Burke Centre Pkwy in the past month alone than the whole 22+ years that i've been in and out of the area. Look lively and I await your responses.
