Auto-x team challenge

Here's a crazy idea. Let's have a team challenge at the next auto-x. THSCC held something similar last year and was pretty successful.

The format could go something like this:
4 car team
Lowest total PAX score would be the winner
At least 2 different classes within the team (double drivers, novices, street tire can be included)
Awards for best team outifts (just a thought)

If you are worried that the local hot shoes will sweep this, keep in mind that the PAX should help to even things out.

Let me know. I would like to do this at the ODR event or the BCC event (or both) in January.

interesting thought. here as drag, we're not really a team, more like a club that just likes to race. if you visit the other forums, more relating to drag you'll see there's all types of "teams."

i'd be up for this type of thing for fun. i don't know if i'd get picked though. i never got picked for basketball in middle school :( lol. but anyways, best outfits? yeah right. i need food on the table before a start worrying about custom clothes.

let's see what the other drag members think.

I think was he was meaning Dave, was that bascailly we pick just 4 cars to be in a "team". Like a scramble golf tournament that your office holds. It's just teams for fun, th at one day, or whatever you want to consider it as.

Yeah, that is me. I work in Building CA-10 (COMOPTEVFOR).

I'll be in for this team thing. I'm sure we can get a German team, or maybe even a BMW team (what do you think Jerry). And Trip, don't be so quik to side with the "usual" favorites. Jerry beat Tom at the last event and I should be nipping at Jerry's heals real soon (ask me why :D !!) , not to mention I think I will follow Jerry and run SM now since the PAX is better than BSP.

Lots of other hondas out there. Michael's dad drives a Civic also. Brandon (Acura/Honda its all the same to me), and the guy in the red civic (sorry I forgot his name) too.

hey beno, you, me, and the Chenerys would be a hell of a team. they are sooooo smooth it's amazing. it looks like they go slow in that civic but the times are on point.

89 civic hatch w/ struts on r-compounds

and me w/ 94 accord, springs struts, rear sway bar, on street tires

= almost identical raw times.

Here is the current update on the Team Challenge:

For the BCC event, the team challenge will be an informal challenge amongst the dragva board participants. Let me know tomorrow at the event who is on your team and what class they are running. When the final results are posted from the club, I will do the PAX calculations and post the result of the challenge on this board. I do not want our challenge to interfere with the running of the BCC event.

For the TSCC event, the challenge has the blessing of the club president as long as I am the one handling the results. Once again, our challenge should not interfere with the event and the Winter 4 points race. The official word is that we will try it out informally. If it is a success, we will do a future Team Challenge as part of an upcoming TSCC event.

I think that this will be a fun twist. Extra frendly competition is always fun and makes you push yourself harder. This sounds like it will be fun. I just hope no one including myself gets caught up in the competition, drives sloppy and develope grudges cause that can really ruin the entire point of this challenge. Good thinking. Has this been done before?

Hey Trip, let's get this straight, if you plan to be part of Team BMW, THERE ARE NO POINTS FOR SECOND PLACE!!!! Don't forget it :devil: !!!!!! (j/k....:cool: ). It is good to see that this seems like it will take off. Nothing like a little extra competition.

And BTW, we still need a 4th driver. I think we can pick one up at the BCC event. I already have 2 names in mind to ask to fill the spot.

I attended an event with other TSCC (Tarheel SCC) about 2 years ago where they did this. They had about 8 teams, some in costumes. The biggest problem was calculating the scores but everyone seemed to have fun.

how will this work, is there some kind of points system? an average of the finishing places?
