There are rallys held with certain car clubs that are legal racing so i dont think that it would be a place to practice but you could try out your skills i guess. I have never been to one before but i have heard abuot some rallys being held in the kinda area. Also come out to autox on sundays. it isnt rallying but hey you could sacrifice your times and just drift all over the place.

There really aren't any rallye's like you see on Speed Channel on TV, like the WRC events or SCCA Pro Rallye's. I really don't know how you get started in it.

I do know that some of the nearby clubs put on a Rallye-Cross about once a year or so. That is basically and autocross on a grass and dirt field. I haven't been to any of them, but could probably find out info if you guys were really interested.

i've talked to a guy who does the road rallies. he says that road rallying is the start to the pro rallying course. you have to achieve a good rep and resume in road, before reaching pro.

Of course there is rallying semi-local. I wish there was something in the area, but northern va is as close as you are getting, see http://www.dcrally.com/

You can go to driving school, but its not cheap...Tim O'Neal who sponsers alot of cars in the SCCA rallys has a school in New Hampshire and it runs about a grand a day, but is very worth it!!

I have not heard of anyplace in the VA area, but know that some of the roads are fun to "play" on!
