View Full Version : Does your car feel faster when your tank is full?

My car feels like it has more power when it has a full tank of gas than when the tank is almost empty. It's been the same with both my s13 and my RSX, although I'd expect it to be the opposite due to the weight gas adds to the car. Is it just me or what?

its just you unless your using race gas. I think you feel proud you were able to fill a full tank so your happy about it and that's why you feel like your going fast.

It only feels faster because you have more gas to burn (making your right foot a little heavier).

Congratulations on your 19th post!

She asked a legitimate question.

Riddle me this, take two cars of the same make and model. One with a full tank, one with a gallon of gas in it.

Now race them for a 1/4 mile. I bet one will be a bit faster than the other.

You're a classified section troll, so I don't know if you really have any room to talk. Looks like you've only posted a few times outside of the classifieds, and in stupid threads, so what were you saying again?

Yeah, that makes sense. I thought it was all in my head too, but wanted to make sure.

car is slightly "faster" if you had 1 gallon or less in the tank ...due to weight savings....

I know the back end feels a little different when your drifting on a full tank compared to a 1/4.

I heard that if you used water istead of gas your car is much faster because water weighs less than gas and is much more efficient due to the smaller cicumference of the superlative derivative per cubic square meter squared divided by the coefficient of the radium.

Some1 try it and let me know if the above is truf or not?

The power doesn't change. Power doesn't have anything to do with weight.

yes but it could feel faster because of weight.... sometimes

Right. But that doesn't change the power. The OP didn't say anything about feeling faster, just that he felt like he had more power. The difference in weight is obvious.

Get better MPG when the tank is almost empty too.
