Oh yeah abacus racing is real nice.. I had them build my bottom end and they have done from what I have seen they have done nothing but quality work. And they resurfaced my flywheel for free while there were at it. I am glad Eugene recommended them to me.

Me and a friend should be going by tomorrow afternoon to get his flywheel resurfaced.

How long did it take? I <3 Abacus anyways.

Yeah thumbs up to Abacus Racing for taking months to build my friends motor and having it blow sky high stranding us 400 miles from home.... its good to hear that you had a good experience though

Wow, I can honestly say that I have only met a couple people with good stories about Abacus. I guess if the only thing you have them do is resurface a flywheel, you may get good service.

nobodies perfect but damn it sucks when spend thousands on building your motor and not having a ride for a couple of months and then 3 weeks of having it back she blows 400 miles away and you spend 500 bucks towing it back home..

I'm trying very hard to stay out of this. The "Matt" situation is long gone, I wish nothing but the best for him in his new ride.

For the record, this is my last post in this thread. I do NOT want to begin bashing Abacus again. If anyone would like a detailed history of my dealings, and many other's accounts of Abacus I would be happy to discuss offline, and private.

The bad business experiences began about two years before I ever met Matt.

there is always a chance something can go wrong no matter who is doing it but i am willing to bet money there is more to this then you or your friend is telling.

I built 3 KA's and had them do all machine work for me. and all my expectations have been surpassed. great service there is nobody else i would trust. Thumbs up for Chuck and Rob in the machine shop.

please post the situation.

Buddy of mine had a 96 neon that had some engine problems to begin with..... he took it to Abacus were they said it needed a complete engine rebuild ..... so I reccomended him to just build it right, so he bought low comp pistons and eagle rods. they rebuilt everything including the head... he picked it up after a couple of months, he was breaking it in and it drove just fine. After about 3 weeks it started developing some bottom end noise, then we took it on a trip to DC and when we got up there the noise bacame very aparent... We started to drive back when the engine blow sky high, we called them back and they started to question if they even did the work. took it to another shop were they said that he threw a rod..... Thats pretty much a rundown of it!

why didnt you go back and talk to them when you first heard the noise instead of taking a long trip?

It was my buddies car and he didn't tell me untill half way till DC..... It didn't seem like a big problem at the time. it sounded like a slight ticking noise but nothing out of the ordinary...

I've had nothing major done but..

I had them check over a block for me. Chuck was very informative about what was going on with my block.

I do plan on having more work done by them in the near future.

personally, i like francisco and i think hes a awesome guy and if he says they do good work and he is running a 11 seocnd na integra (not the easiest thing in the world) i trust them! Not to mention thats once again IMHO i think your boys a moron for driving a built motor with noises coming from it no matter how out of the ordinary it is. Call me meticulous but a built motor is a heavy expense.

Mixed reviews like these are why I build my own engines. If something goes wrong it is all on me.

nobodies perfect but damn it sucks when spend thousands on building your motor and not having a ride for a couple of months and then 3 weeks of having it back she blows 400 miles away and you spend 500 bucks towing it back home..that sounds like a tuning issue...?

Abacus has been good to me. Built my B20 vtec from bottom up. Franny and Seth built it and did a great job. I made pretty decent power 206 whp and 152 foot pounds torque on 3 pulls. Oh and Chuck will always keep you informed about what is taking place on your build.

I've gotten nothing but great work from Abacus. They sleeved my motor and Seth ported and assembled the head/block. They worked with me on dyno time as well and having done many other misc machinings for me.

Thumbs up to Chuck and Steve Abacus Racing

I just had my new set of BBS RS wheels machined by them, as the wheel bore was too small to clear my hubs...the turnaround was quick, and the final price was actually a bit lower than they estimated up front.

Thanks,

Jon
