I would like to put this on this year. It is february 2nd now and i have plenty of time to plan. I'm thinking July 29th which is a sunday this year because that seems to be a slow month for racers. As far as I know, there isnt a big shows for NC that weekend either.

It will be an index class race structure meaning you will be grouped by ET and not by make, setup, induction, tires, etc. There will be 3-5 categories depending on interest shown. Estimated cost will be around $20-30 for racers, and $5-10 for general admission. The event would be an all day event.

In addittion to the race, I would like to host a show. Again, if i see a lot of interest and support shown, i will be able to push for more sponsors without fear of a bad turnout. I'd like to have some categories that suit the all out show cars, and your JDM or VIP styled cars as well.

Ok, Tony (owner of Northeast Dragway - the 1/8mile drag stip in Hertford, NC) has approached me saying that he wants to hold a legal event at his track for us.

Well who is US? Us is all of the enthusiasts who have a head on our shoulders. It doesnt matter who us is. Anyone who has any sort of automobile would be invited. Imports, domestics, classics, bikes, 4wheelers, lowriders, hell, I would like to see some North carolina boys bring out some lifted trucks and smoke it all the way down the track. Its an event to show that we as a community want to go places and have fun safely.

What is the event?
Well, He has offered his entire facility for us. Complete use of all the Land, use of the Dragstrip, use of the stadium. We have everything at our disposal. I would like to have a race, show, and maybe a bikini or sound or burnout contest. Im not as familiar with ins/outs of a sound competition or think that we would get enough ladies for a bikini contest so i am moreso leaning towards a burnout contest.
The race setup would probably be 2 bracket classes (slow and fast), and 2-3 heads up classes based on time brackets (ie-7sec and quicker, 7.01-9.00, and 9.01 and slower.) something along those lines. This setup would allow for anyone to race any vehicle they want, import or domestic, Forced Induction or NA, Electronic or not.
I would love to get in touch with some of the hardcore pro racers in the area who could run a couple exhibition passes for the crowd too.

WHEN
Im looking at the first sunday in August for this to happen, i need to have at least 2 months of planning to get everything accomplished.

RIGHT NOW
I need for people to voice their opinion for or against. And offer support in any way they can help. (please dont offer help unless you can actually step up when the time comes). I think we can make this happen and make it good

If it's for everyone.

I know my stepdad, uncle, cousin, brother and myself would be done.

I'd also have about 20 or so Hondas coming out.

I'll gather the troops.

Honda diffs? Doesn't it suck breaking them? I broke a diff street racing, that shit sucks.

Hasport Extremes + Gs-r trans w/ high miles + slicks + strong clutch +new axles = Broken diff. Still drove it home though :)
