From what I heard:
David ran down the track, 10.3 @ god speed... at the end of the track (something may have been layed down by a previous car) david gets into the grass, comes back across the track and hits the wall pretty much head on. He hit is with so much force it kinda lifted the car off the ground landing it on the left rear (no positive on which side, it may have been right).

All in all, the looks of the car is that it's totalled. :( sad sad day for david it really sucks.

I hate Richmond track for this very reason, I've also have hit wet/oily spots on the topend of the track that makes me wet my panties! (poor topend track prep or poor clean ups)

well now that im home, and have had a good chance to think about all that has happened this weekend.... i just have to say this:

this is the weekend that never should have happened.

1) im racing my buddy... classic battle (stout gm vs stout ford), look up in the rearview after crossing the line to see him hang a right hand turn, then to see the complete underside of that beautiful car :thdown: thank god for nhra/ihra safety rules. i think a cage will be going in my red car VERY shortly.

2) was out with nic, going to look for trouble... after changing his alternator in the parking lot of f*cking foodlion, we committed the cardinal sin "shut the damn hood".... you can guess what happened - the car's fine, just crushed the cowl and dunno about him, but my evening was FUBAR at that point.

but it gets better:

3) on the way here i checked my vms from the weekend to find out that my "lil sis" is layed up in the hospital - was tboned in her moms car by some young kid doing 50 @ courthouse/288. the car was so f*cked that they had to pull her from the pass side - with her 3yr old looking on in the back seat. her spleen was ruptured and her hip is broken.

4) sign onto this site to receive a pm that another friend was struck by a dd on the way home from PINKS last night. luckily he's ok, but his car is totalled.

all things considered - i should not feel as shitty as i do. i didn't lose anybody to any tragedies this w/e.... but damn, does everything have to come crashing down all at once?

Ian's Mustang is more or less totaled I think, hard hit to the driver side. The fucking guy who hit us tried to run but got caught. He blew a .25 on the breathalizer and got about 3 different felony charges. His wife got one too. Crazy weekend it's been. Luckily Ian and I both escaped unharmed (I think)

I'm so sorry to hear about this David, I'm glad to hear you're alright though. I know the pain of losing a car after putting years of work and money into it (you had me beat out on both aspects, but I know it sucks).
