View Full Version : ecu troubles
I'm thinking about going turbo and dont want to use an FMU because of its lack on tuning abilities and a standalone is too expensive for me at the moment. If i convert to OBD-1 (my car is currently obd2) which chipped ecu's can be used? My motor is a D16y7(the non vtec one) can I use a chipped p28?

u can use a chipped ecu as anything gsr h22, single cam, etc, depends on the program used when chipping you have to let the guy whos chipping it know what you are doing so he can give you the correct program in the chip

If you have a non-vtec engine, and are going to stay that way, use a LS ECU or P06 Civic ECU. Any of those can be tuned for your engine, and cost less than a vtec ECU such as a P28.
thanks I found a nice deal on honda tech for a chipped p06.
