Do NOT, under any circumstances, use this place. They lied to me about estimate fees and overcharged me and they also lied to me about the problems with my car. They gave me a list of parts that totaled about $1200 in repairs and it was all bogus. I took my car to Hall Ford and sucked up the dealership fees to figure out I had a faulty ECU due to a chip. Ford charged me $500 for a new ECU and that included programming and estimate fees. It was expensive but the car has been running for over 2 years since this incident. I just noticed this thread so I figured i'd give everyone a heads up. American Pride in Yorktown is the worst place to take your car if you have an issue. They bluntly lied to me and overcharged me on an estimate fee by making up some bogus claim. Fortunatly for me I didn't allow them to do the repair and sucked up the dealership fees. Their diagnostic was completely bogus as well and if I had the knowledge I do now I wouldve been meeting them in court.

i concur, American Pride sucks. They overcharged me for cutting off two rusted bolts.

This is moot I think. I was at Custom Car Care yesterday and the American Pride shop was gone, and up for sale.

they are one of my best customers....i sell at least 2 engines or trannys a week to them.
of course, i have no idea how they do business (from a financial perspective)...but i will state that we have never had a problem with the shops ability to install an engine/transmission. i know sometimes they must be a little $$ at first b/c they strip everything down to a longblock and replace ALL seals and belts/hoses when doing an engine swap. some shops will under quote you at first and then come back with more charges over the install.

I think they are great and do great work. They did my dad's F250 Banks setup for a great price and quality work.

My friend had his car towed there to get fixed. And they said they had to order a part to fix it(97 dodge intrepid) and they would call him when it was fixed. Well, they never called him, and when he went to find out what was up(4 months later) they had sold it out from under him. They said that it was there too long and they couldn't get the part to fix it. He is dealing with the police now. They also have no idea who they sold it to.

Yeah that is the whole story. He is a worthless guy. He got another car so he didn't really care about this one. It was his fault though. I told him all the time to go check on it. He isn't very responsible.

yea i can def say that american pride is the WORST place to go....when i originally bought my car(or lets just say piece of sh*t) it was good for like a month....then suddently everythin...(and sadly i mean everythin) was messin up....so long story short i went there bc my dad went there for an engine swap that he had no prob with them...and i have gone to them at least 3 more times to fix what i originally fixed....and now i need to go back again bc somethin else that i paid for is messed up again....well i paid to have them fix my car once and have gone there a total of 4 times and need to go again when i have time....so yea they suck and NEVER go there....
