NORFOLK — A judge found two people not guilty Monday on charges of illegal street racing on Interstate 564.

Benjamin Vaughan, 18, and Amanda Clifton, 20, were both cleared of the charge in General District Court. Cases against several other people were rescheduled for June.

State Police charged several people in March after a bust on I-564 near the Granby Street exit. State police had been investigating allegations of racing in the area for more than a month.

Good to see two of them get off from the charges. BUT I am sure they will either never head out and hang with anyone again out of fear. Or ended up with a pleabargain with the city and will most like end up as a informant for the police.

On that note it is funny how the NNPD were amaziningly light in numbers this past weekend. I guess overtime was kicking the departments butt.

I was looking foward to seeing that strawberry blond she-cop again, she was kinda hot, with the vest and utility belt and all......

A friend of mine, that still has to go to court for this, said that he was one of the people that actually helped get these to off. Not sure if they are using the others caught to testify or anything, and have not talked to him to ge tt he full story, but he said he helped get them off. And from others that have been to court. all the police have is just one cops testimony, no real hard evidence.

if we all had that mentality, then we should all have this one :

modifying hondas is dumb anyways. Id steal parts off another persons honda,or their whole car at that,if that was my shot at getting good parts. Dumbfucks shouldnt be doing it anyways, because they will either get pulled by the cops,or get their car/parts stolen eventually anyways.

Wow, I don't think you can stretch something any more than you just did. Modifying Hondas hurts no one. All it does is put you at risk of tickets. Street racing on the other hand, endangers people. Whether it be the ones in the car or those outside of the car. Evident by the stories upon stories of kids wrecking their car racing and killing themselves or someone elses. Thats apples to oranges trying to compare street racing to modifying Hondas.

i wasnt trying to Compare them..i was showing the stupidity in both statements..i understand street racing is stupid..everyone is aware of that. But it certainly doesnt stop people from around the country, from making videos, doing it every friday and sat. night, and building their cars solely for the street. I just love how everyone used to do it..and now that its publicized..everyone is trying to act above what they were before all this shit happened.

billy bob a week before 3/3/06 : Hey,wheres the races gonna be at tonight?? i want to run this Turbo hatch

billy bob a DAY after 3/3/06 : street racing is so fucking stupid, those guys were stupid,i cant believe they were so dumb..i would never go out there and do something like that..dumbfucks.

Well some people are too stupid to learn from other people's mistakes. I was not out there that night, but I have been there before. To say that I have never street raced would be a lie... But luckily I am one of those people who can learn from other's... I don't need to get caught or lose my car to find out that street racing is dumb. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my money every weekend going to dinwiddie...

thats the thing..people are trying to ostricize other people, thinking that they never knew street racing was dumb until they got their car taken away.

Everyone knew what they faced everytime they lined up,or went from a roll...but in the food chain, someone eventually has to get eaten, for the other animals to realize not to hang around that spot, otherwise they will get eaten too.

i have no problem with people joking, making comments,or anything..but to keep going around the boards,or in real life, pointing, and saying "you are stupid,i would never do that" is hypocritical...like this forum for instance..this forum would have never been made,if the events of 564 didnt happen..people would still be out linin em up. but now, everyones trying to get a track built, and meet up and organize "lawlfully" and get together with cops.

Yup, I am not criticising any of the people who were caught racing. It could have been pretty much anybody that got caught... I was just commenting on how anybody who is looking for a place to street race after 564 happened is dumb and in-capable of learning from the experiences of others...

Also, I am sure getting caught was the last thing the people out on 564 were thinking about when it happened...

It was brought to my attention that there is some talk of myself and "the other guy" that I was in court with on monday are narks? I found out myself after browsing through this forum...and I wanted to set the record straight....first off I wasn't racing...second no one helped me get off, except my attorney and the commonwealth for not having their shit together. I don't know any of the guys that got charged as well as myself. I don't know how all this narking crap has gotten around, but just know I had the chance to, cuz they did offer that to me, but I didn't, because someone could have been out there just like myself and got caught up in it. As the person who said something about possiblity of you pleabargaining with the State. Well lets face it, the chances of you getting off from a case like that with your car the color it is, with those charges and previous cases being hit with "light" punishment. The odds of your plea are far greater than what you state. But seeing as I have only meet you once and dont really know the kind of person you are, sorry to insult you like that.

With that said, see you on the street ;)

I appreciate the apolige. I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression of me, Im not the one out there after everyone..its the state! Beleive me if I helped them out at all everyone would have seen it because I would have been up there standing beside them when they heard others cases, and I wasn't...I don't even know anything to be able to tell them anyways ....the judge was def. willing to hear my case out and I am most thankful to her....but I still haven't gotten my car...they are trying to screw me and make me pay empound fees to get it out...about 2 grand...Im still fighting that and im about to take it to the media because they shouldn't have had my car from the start of all of this....none of them know what they are doing...I wish this was all over with...I may be "cleared" but im still going through shit....

So who exactly doesn't know what they are doing? Normally when a car is impounded, there are fees associated to get it back. You probably weren't racing, you can say you were innocent all you want, but you were still out there so don't act like you are little Ms. Innocent.

You can fight and take it to court if you want to get the fee's back, but that is going to cost money as well for a lawyer and who knows how long it would take to get resolved. Your best bet is to go and pay to get the car ASAP as you are more than likely being charged a storage fee every day the car is there.

Unfortantly Geckogirl, the impound yard will have to get paid, they honestly dont care if you were cleared or not, they are in the buisness to make money. UNfortantly for you, you got tagged with a hella bill. The only thing I can suggest if you honestly want to try and fight the bill is try and see if you can get the judge to get the state/city to cover it. But I doubt they will. The only other suggestion is to try and make payments to the impound yard, and haggle down the amount owed.

Well my little ray of sunshine...

As a matter of fact, I'm a regular at the Starbucks in NN doing as you put it "chilling with a bunch of freinds in a parking lot, B.S'ing the night away"

You dipshits meanwhile made 564 into your personal racetrack and wondered what happened when you got busted.

Ever hear the phrase "Don't shit where you eat?" Perfectly applicable to this situation.

The Norfolk cops used the traffic cameras to watch people hang out in that lot and then stroll out to 564 and race. If you had been smart, you wouldn't have hung out in a place 30 feet from illegal racing.

But you didn't and so most of you got busted for something and therefore gave me the oppertunity to laugh at you esp. the bitch crying on camera.

Sucks to be you

*edit - Way to be orginal and talk about my mother. Feel free to stop by NN anytime and we can talk about it.
