It's hard to answer the phone in the middle of the program. Last night I didn't want to interrupt someone in the middle of a thought to answer the phone since we hadn't opened the phones and had no idea if it was a listener or a random caller. For future reference, if we haven't announced the phones opened but you want to participate in the broadcast, call during a commercial break when I can get to the phone without interupting someone speaking. In the evening there is nobody in the office to get the phone (no ring - a strobe flashes in the studio), so if I answer it on the air, the caller is on the air.
Sorry I couldn't talk to you until after the program. Keep me posted on what's happening though and I'll gladly help wherever I can. As long as the momentum keeps building and there are new developments we can make announcements or do interviews in future broadcasts.

I'm working with the station on getting a download set up. The guy who sets up the downloads is unavailable this week...so I'm trying to get a file I can post at octaneonline.

I've got a .wma file, but can't host it (too big - upload times out at my webhost server). If anyone can host it or knows how to compress it, please let me know. The file is 50mb. Thanks.
Seeing as you spoke with the Manager of Langley Speedway, I can't wait to hear this. I'm probably one of the biggest supporters of the Extreme Sports Wednesdays event they put on there. I can't wait to pick up this CRX tomarrow so I can start getting it setup :)

You can temporarily host it on yousendit.com so users can download it. Make sure you zip it or rar it.
Simply go there enter your email address and send us the link they give you so we can d/l it.
The file will last long on there.

You're right, I'm only 20. However, I've only missed one night in the past 5 years, I've raced numerous cars out there, I've lined up cars to help Chris out, and I tell everyone I know they have to show up. And either way, does it really matter?
Just a reminder to tune in tonight. ;)

Hey Jay - this was actually last week's announcement! I'm still struggling with this audio file too...aarrghh.
But as VR-4ever says - tune in tonight! Vr-4ever will be on to talk about his car and we're going to have some of the old timers on talking about some local racing history. Cool stuff.

The new announcement:
We're gearing up for another Octane Magazine Radio Hour - every Tuesday from 6PM-7PM on 1490AM locally and online at www.racetalklive.com
Tonights guests are:
VR-4ever, who many of you know from the boards. Jay's car will be featured in the next issue of Octane and we'll be talking to him about the car tonight.
Stan Vann. Stan has been driving competitively for over 35 years and has a wealth of knowledge of amateur auto competition in the region. Stan also runs his Caldwell Formula Ford at area autocrosses and numerous East Coast Hillclimb events.
Rory Kennedy. Rory is the founder and Race Director for Powerglide Promods (formerly Heads-Up Doorslammers), as well as the driver of the Performance Unlimited Wolverine Mustang. He'll be talking about his involvement in drag racing and the Powerglide Promods series.
If anyone has suggestions for show topics or guests, please feel free to contact me at any time at dan@octaneonline.com, 757-816-9761, or through the boards. Thanks!

Thanks to VR-4ever and our other guests for their time this evening.
Beginning next week the show will be archived so folks who aren't available to listen at 6PM can check it out later in the week. When the archive is live I will post to let everyone know - and it will include last week's show. Thanks for the support everyone.
Thanks for having me on the show Dan, good luck with it!
- Jay
