As you all know by now, there have been a few meetings regarding the situation at hand and recent events. With the most recent one, we were able to bring together our ideas, and develop a solid plan. We have the support of local and national organizations, as well as from local law enforcement and the media to really get things done. And they WILL get done. There WILL be places we can go without being harassed. There WILL be places we can go to race, maybe not right next door, but as close to as we can get. The future holds great things for everyone who calls themselves a car enthusiast. Within the next few weeks, a new organization will grow to support our hobby, our passion, and our lives. By simply giving your support to this organization and its cause, you will see many benefits. Shortly, there will be an open meeting where YOU can come to speak your mind and make a difference. This will be your chance to make an impact on the scene. The time to do this is now, and it IS going to happen.

Use this thread and the project757 forum to start discussing ideas of your own; your voice will not go unheard. Details on the open meeting will follow soon. Until then, organize your thoughts and your goals. Think about ways you can help our community. Think about ways you can help yourself.

If possible, I need you guys to let me know what you guys are working on. We want to make sure we don't have 6 different groups talking to the same people, becuase thats just going to confuse them.

im surprised this hasnt be done sooner. somebody should come up with a business plan with estimated cost to make, money needed to invest from investors, and how soon that invest will turn to profit. start pitching these ideas to people that have money to invest. someone should get something together b/c there is probably millions to be made!

ok, please keep this thread civil. the goal of this thread was to inform people that we are getting an organization started and for all to keep thinking what they want to get out of it. We want your voices on what you want. We want your opinions on how to make it happen. Most importantly, we want your support when we try to make things happen.

i had an idea about building a track to run on. if they seel al the land from fort monroe then wh couldnt we get some land to build a track. i was thinkin that maybe we could try and get almost everyone from the 757 to organize and try to raise money for a track. not sure how good an idea it is but at least i am throwin it out there.

that land would be used as a museum. its historic. if not, a nice developer would buy it and sell it for millions per home. That land is perfect for wealthy homes

I'm impressed. Someone's actually got an idea and taking real action on it. A REAL place to be able to hang out would be awesome. As long as we can weed out the idiots that want to burn out and show off, we'll be good.

All we have to do is POLICE OUR OWN, when we see someone acting up approach them nicely and let them know, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT, take their plate # down and let themknow if they do it again we will turn them in, I know it is snitching, but we have to get tough and show all these people who are backing us up that we mean business and are serious

Having a place that is regulated to meet would be awesome, honestly i have not met many people from the boards, because ive always been afraid to go to meets because of the ignorance that flocks towards those kind of meets.

One person was concerned with what would we do when the ignorance comes, i was thinking ( i don't know what kind of spot it would be ) but to get in you register your self, and sign something stating you under stand the rules of conduct, yada yada yada, and have penalties put in place. Not to scare everyone from wanting to come, but if we want to look like we are civil, and have common sense, we will have to "punish", "snitch", and not associate with the people who act up, and make a fool of them selves.

Goodevening my friends and ali's, i spent the whole afternoon on the phone with people that can help. But with my own pwersonal fight to build a track we have been for 15 years for this to happen and me and many drag racers have and are still trying. So with this said let me say this put the track on the back burner for the time being. You have lots of work ahead of you, first you have to show you are for real and that you can work together to show everyone you mean it. Respect and attitude(positive) is going to be what gets you help to make your dreams come true. And that is whats going to help. No one is gonna listen till they see what your doing. I have already fought these fights when CCCHR started, a bunch of whinny sit on my azz people told me face to face it wouldnt last 6 months, welllllll our council the first ever has been here, 15 years this july. So i know you can do this, i did and when i say i i mean 100,s of people we did it and now there are 5 councils. So be patient, fight the good fight and you will reap many many benifits ( and my spelling sucks lol) dee

won't work. trouble makers aren't gonna listen to anyone that's not in a uniform. more than likely they'll just try to start a fight. you need a real cop to police it.

Chillen in Chesapeake. I had a private message and then looked at the top of my browser and it was like "Hi you haven't been on or posted in a while, why not drop in and take part in a conversation or help someone out" so I did. Might be in Va Beach tonight though I think my girl is going into labor. Holla.

The nice part is we kind of have something like that going on already. A truck club i've been hanging out with was invited to have there weekly meetings at Fatburger in Chesapeake. It's decent food a little discount for members and plenty of parking off of main roads and close to I-64.

I still think AMERICAN INDOOR KARTING is the most logical place, the lot is already used for daytime carshows atleast once a month, the car club council show is going to be there next month(APRIL 15TH), I know all of you will be there,RIGHT!!!!Its to benefit a little girl who needs a lung transplant, plus what better way to show the owners how responsible you can be, with us(the car club council) there we can help in setting this up,Right DEE, it cant hurt you to try.

Just this past saturday the cops broke up the car shows in newport news. Me and my buddies left before the cops broke up the second show, but I heard they blocked everyone in and wrote fix-it tickets. Seems like after Norfolk all the cops are getting more agressive with this.

i know im outta the country till may , but i def agree with the cause, and am willing to help out as much as i can. id like this to be resolved by the time i come home. my buddies wife is a cop in chesapeake and i can talk to her if you guys want, just give me questions to ask. as far as a place to go, my best idea is find a parking lot (obviously) of a building thats not in use or business thats shut down, contact he owner of the property and talk to him. this way its private property with consent of the owner. tell him, let us use the area and every week we'll maintain it (clean debris watever) , this way theres something in it for him, im sure outta all of us , we can get at least five guys who are willing to sacrifice a lil bit of a sunday to get it done

Thanks for the same idea that's been brought up 934793874 times since the incident. It has been duly noted.

p.s. no hard feelings, I'm just sick and tired of the PMs offering the same solution (yours). It is in the works ppl.

Tell ya what....the idea of donating to community car washes and etc would be a great small thing to do with a larger impact if played right...think of it like this.....local high school has a car wash for raising money right..they do it all the time...we have all seen them...think of the impact it would have to the school and teachers who could pass the word on if say 50-100 cars all just rolled up to this car wash fund raiser and all pitched in even a measly $5 bux...or even $10-$20 why not...the fund raisees would be flabbergasted and its at least a start.....and im sure the school, church, rec center or whatever would be grateful.....
