View Full Version : How DragVA started: Where Visions Become Reality.

I've always taken pride in being a visionary. I've always been full of great, wonderful, innovative ideas. But the problems came when I would try to see them become reality. Sure, drag757 started off as a small vision that my close friend Matt and I had, and I saw it through as an experiment. But then something surprising happened. It turned out to be successful. So with that success, came an even larger vision. Why should I be satisfied with just the region I live in? Why not expand to the whole state? Thus, the birth of dragVA. But then, there was absolutely no way that I could be happy with just a forum based site. There was room for more growth. The vision of what you see before you today was actually born many months ago, but in a large part due to my own laziness, it never saw the face of reality, until today.

But of course, none of this could have happened if it wasn't for a lot of great people that helped me out. In no particular order, I owe a huge amount of credit to the following people: Roy, who designed this whole website as you see it today, and has hosted me for the absolute best prices on hosting ever imagineable. He put up with a lot of crap from me through this whole ordeal, and I'm glad to have him on my side(sometimes). Eng, reXer, Heat, and Ryan: my original "staff members" and also personal friends. Their help in providing content for this side has proved to be indispensible, and I hope that they continue to help me in providing good reading material for the site. Matt, who swears he doesn't ever get any credit, I have to let the world know that it was originally him who encouraged me to get the site up and running. He also gets credited for the whole "drag757" name deal. If it wasn't for Matt, I'd probably still be playing computer games 5 hours a day instead of dealing with the headaches of this site. teamultraspeed and hrracing, who served their respective purposes well, but at the same time gave me the intial inspiration for this crazy vision that came about one day.

And last but not least, you, the community members of dragVA. Without you all, this site would be nothing. I've made a great deal of friends on this site, many that have become very close, and I'm thankful for every one of you. You, the members, are the ones that rallied for the cause, and donated you hard earned money out of your own pockets when it came to crisis time. You, the members, were the ones to put up with all my crazy ideas (i.e. girl garage... *sigh*) and stricter policies regarding bandwidth. You, the members, who wake up everyday, go to school everyday, work everyday, and still find time to visit this site and create the incredible community that we have today. You, the members, who have turned my vision into reality.

Thank You.
