Signature character length includes formatting for max length

The signature text is limited to 500 characters by the vBulletin error check. This 500 character limit also includes the formatting. Can this be changed to exclude formatting from the max text length?

Example: (470 char without formatting, 583 characters with formatting)

Can this be changed to exclude formatting from the max text length? No because then we end up with people with signatures that have a different color for every letter or people putting entire song lyrics in their signature. Just opens signatures up to more potential abuses. You're also the first person I've heard run into the limit.

Since it's a global setting it's going to stay at 500 chars.
