I was highly disappointed about the turn out. I mean yeah there was a bikini contest but it seemed very watered down. I hope this show is not anything like the show in Hampton.....If so I want a refund!

yea man this is my last year of showing 2006 I'm calling it quits. I'm taking up another hobby. so I'll finish the show season with sts and HIN Miami. From there the only mods will be maintenance. But yea sometimes they judge you sometimes they don't. You just have to bug the piss out of them and let them know whats up.

Thanks for the compliment. yea I'm calling it quits as far as showing. The last little bit of mods I have left will be installed before 2006 and i figured that would be a good stopping point for me. Its not fun for me anymore.

went to sts in richmond last year and unless your driving to go see emotion or ultraspeed cars there is no point in going.i was very disappointed last year after driving there.shit the parts exchange meets rival the sts show lol

I like STS because its bringing more the Import scene to VA like when Hot Import Nights came here this summer. I give it up to my boy Lo he is doing a good job on the STS here in VA. I just question them dayumn NCCA judges sometimes.

Some of their methods and criteria are questionable, but to their credit...........the stock look....paint job,front lip,engine swap,and suspension ONLY,.........6X9's instead of a "custom audio setup" for weight reduction:rolleyes: .....cars showing in the competition-with their hoods and trunks closed.......GSR seats-and that's all that's custom about the interior.....never win.
Function over form is cool.......but if I wanted to see cars that appeared stock....or less is more......I'd hit up Eye Candy.


So at least they still have score based judging and didn't go "e"-status quo.

It was a waste of time last year. Team emoticon always wins cause they are in Angelo's back pocket. It's some of the worst judging I've ever seen and the price is fucking stupid. $65 to show $20 or$25 to spectate. Damn! And the facility is way smaller in Richmond than Hampton. Talk about cramped! Waste your time and money if you go. If you bitch directly on the STS site you might get a free invite like me. Just tell him his show sucks and is a major ripoff.

The Best team comp. is not a "most entries" or "most participation" this year. It's a cumulative score of your team's top ten cars.
"Team DragVa" could show up with a thousand "less is more"/"clean" cars........if they're all taking zero's in most of the scoresheets different categories it won't matter how many there are.



...besides, I think there's already a swaps'n'paint jobs crew coming. lol

I was told the classes were going to be more broken down, but on the site I don't see that they are keeping their promise on this one. Anyway I think 4 members from Streamline will be showing. Say the load in for Sat starts at 9 and ends at 1pm.

My car is tore up, but I am still gonna show anyways. :D

its not that it does bad money wise..its just not as enjoyable as some shows..you have 2 or 3 teams making up the whole show floor it seems. last year people were cocky as shit and rude as hell..the show was 1/2 organized..it wasnt fully organized as i have seen alot of shows

Last year was the fucking gayest thing ever. I skipped outta there almost immediately, went over to FATS (Now SATS, and on the same date once again) and saw more cool cars there than at the supertuner show, and didnt have to pay fucking $20. Its a waste of time, so gay.

classes in NCCA judging are based on body mods, since most Emotion cars are not sporting MOLDED body kits or head and taillight conversions other than JDM versions, they are mild and street cars. alot of whom are competing in higher classes than they technically should be classed in.

apparently for 2006 though, NCCA is going to base classes on overall mods than just body mods..so most Emotion cars will be in even higher classes than before.

I just think the show it too drawn out for one day. I mean those who leave VA Beach at 7 to up there for the roll in on Sat at 9 and you don't get out of there until about 12-1am and have a 2 hour drive back to VA Beach. Makes for a long day. Plus not a lot of things going on in that span of time. Place isn't that big and you can see everything in less then an hour. So you have about 14 hours left to sit around and basically do nothing, but eat and bs with others. I think it was around 6 or 7 I was like man they need to do trophies now!

Newbie to dragva but been around lots of other boards for a while. I live in Richmond but since I have to work tommorrow I won't be able to get out to the show. From what everyone is saying, I won't be missing much. I get off of work at 6 so I'll miss a good portion of the show. I looked on the website but I can't find a time for when this ends but I was wondering if anyone would like to meet up at the Hooters on Broad St. for a little GTG. Nothing big but I thought it'd be a good chance for me to meet some other people here on the boards because I don't know any car people from Richmond. Just post in here if you're interested and I'll check back when I get home from work tonight. This is just a get together and if no one shows up it'll probably just be me and a couple other guys out there. Plus there's lots of parties going on up here tommorrow night so if anyone's going to be sticking around I could drag yall out to some VCU parties. It's not as bad as it sounds.

if you know someone showing, ride with them or get their extra wristband..passengers get in free :thup: but if you are just spectating, they close the doors then do awards..at least thats the way they did it last year

Atleast at last years show, I dun see what you would do from 3-10. I got there at 6 and by 8 I was out, ran outta stuff to look at.

I'm not trying to hate on any shows or anything, but I felt stiffed after paying $20 to see that stuff. If it wasn't $15 I'd probably show, but the price is steep and I'd rather put that $15 toward dynoing that evening.

Probably will not attend the next STS...nothing against it except for the simple reason of being a little too drawn out...mean do the awards at 6pm instead of 10 or 11pm. There wasn't anything to do this time. Last year there was more going on at least. Don't get me wrong it was fun for the first couple hours.

I was worn out and ready to go by 5..I did like the fact that this year they didnt kick everyone out before letting everyone else in nor did they wait until really late to do awards. I think last year it was after 11 before they got started but damn that dude took FOREVER reading them and he should have finished all before deciding to hop off stage. I also dont think there were as many vendors as it was last year either..the spectators werent as many either..who knows. honestly i doubt they made any money off of this show since the turnout both showing and spectating seemed low
