What's up guys/gals? This thread is for posting everything that went on with the 4th TTE POKER RUN. Just figured it'd be easier to make a new thread and put all the summary information in here. So, anyway, tell us what you liked/disliked and if you had a good time or not. Thanks again for everyone that came out as we were able to raise just over $2,000 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters! AWESOME job people!
We still have t-shirts available upon request and will sell them for $15 (cost) each to benefit the charity once again.
yAY! Thanks for putting it on guys. And thanks to Chris for the Langley event.

We are sitting at $2045 right now. Chris is going to give me some money for advertising and then a Langley Speedway donation to the cause. So i will post the final numbers soon.
As Richard mentioned we still have about 10 shirts left over and we will sell them for $15 which is cost. PM me or Richard if you would like to buy a shirt. These shirts turned out awesome and i know everyone who purchased one will agree.
Also big thanks to the sponsors of the event and Chris at Langley especially for hosting a kick ass saturday night event. Team Top End and Langley Speedway will definetly work together again to have an event with more for the fans and more for the racers. Stay tuned
Please let TTE know what we can do better to have a better event next year. It would be appreciated.
Also please stay tuned as the next TTE event will be in November to help out with the hurricane relief effort and local families. They need our help not just now but for several months to follow. TTE will serve as a conduit for such endeavours to help these families. Also TTE will be sponsoring another family for Christmas. So stay tuned to www.TeamTopEnd.com for updates and fill free to pm me your email and i will send you updates.
Thanks again for your efforts yesterday and proving once again that we are not just a bunch of gear heads but supporters of our community.

Great event fellas. I wish I could have driven my car on the Poker Run, but had fun navigating.
Suggestions: Instead of using a place like Macfadden's (sp?) as one of the stops lets goto some buffet that doesn't have to make a modified menu for us. That was a clusterfuck. Pre-ordering did help with that some though. Or you could possibly give an hour break and try to plan the stop location before/after the break to be in an area full of restraunts.
The only complaint I had the whole time other than the food situation (minor) was the lack of good judging for the races. There were clearly a few races that went one way, but should have went the other. I know that's not TTE, but it is something to consider.
Also, BAN that red camaro from racing next time. He is fast around that damn track ;)

Corey did bring up a good point. Not hating on McFaddens, but being they had notice we were coming, they still seemed a little overwhelmed!

ya, our table was the only one that got ignored...and we were one of the first people to order.
i had a great time even though i had to leave before the event at langley speedway( i heard that was alot of fun though). The only suggestion i could make is that people have fun but have safe fun. I think i speak for almost everyone when i say there was someone driving a red sentra who kept cutting people off and driving like a jackass.

I almost punched that kid when we pulled into McFadden's. I said something about his driving and he made a couple of smartass comments. I didn't figure Rich and Carl and the rest of TTE would have appreciated that too much though.

Good points. The food stop will most likely remain a Poker Run Stop next time but definetly something to do with buffet style. I think i can get that arranged at several different locations. That really sucked even though i told them to expect 60 to 80 and i called them twice to say "hey we are on our way and here is the order for food". they still managed to look incompetent as management and staff....no drinks or ketchup/mayo until the food was served to everyone....
As far as the judging of the races....i already told Chris to improve that. that really sucked.
Alright keep the suggestion coming.

Yes the kid in the Red Sentra...if you are on here....need to respect the fact that this was not a race. Swerving in and out of cars and cutting people off was uncalled for. Especially when everyone is trying to stay in a pack. if you have a few people on the road then it is one thing but not in a pack. I personally hope that you enjoyed yourself and make it to many more TTE events but leave the bad driving at home.
TPJ thanks for keeping a level head. I would have been pissed if someone were to cause a ruckess at one of our events.

It was fun outside the trans problems I had in the Bimmer. I think my "Tiptronic" switchable automatic trans decided to shit itself just after leaving the parking lot at Tuner's Edge. I could only shift manually throughout the first two stops, so I had to take it back to the house and switch rides. That really sucked because I wanted to get some good runs in and all I could do was watch people pass me by.
Got any recommendations on someone who could check it out before getting the proverbial $2000 check up at Casey BMW? Its an 86 with the 4HP22 trans.

Screw it, the 745 is getting transplanted into the 5er. After finding out the car is in this month's Roundel, I think I am going to go ahead and do it right this time. The tranny in the 745i turbo is in better condition.
Not sure how long it will take, but the swap is already underway.
