We have had alot of questions and concerns on exactly what is going on, so here is the explaination....

The only BIG change is we are now a part of organizing and promoting the IMSTAR World Import Series @ MIR. Bryan, myself and Matt are still organizing and running the Mid Atlantic MEGA MEET every first Saturday of each month at the VDOT lot in Woodbridge. We are still a non-profit organization and will be receiving a donation from DCSPEED.net after this event so that the MEGA MEET can stay free for many more months/years to come. This donation will pay for food/drinks during the meet for all to enjoy, the cost of having police officers patrol the lot, any extra surprises that we will throw in and little costs that come up for supplies and what not during the year. Since day one, we have wanted this meet to stay free for everyone but the costs were getting to much to come out of our own pockets. Therefore, we decided to ask for help from the people that attend the MEGA MEET last month by asking for a $1 donation and with that, everyone received a raffle ticket. Also a portion of the money goes into the raffle as a grand prize. We try to give alot back to the people that do support the MEGA MEET because without you all, there would be nothing. The MEGA MEET will still be at the lot every first Saturday of each month except for the month that the IMSTAR event is help. We are still going to be at the lot in October and November of this year, taking a break during the winter months and then starting back up in either March or April of 2006.

Is anyone meeting up to go the show.

Why the day right after HIN?

Because that is the way HIN is scheduling their shows. Originally, this year there was going to be no HIN at Atlantic City, but everybody complained so loudly about that decision that the organizers of HIN decided to hold a show in Atlantic City.

Gio, a question about the classes:

Why are there 2 classes for _0_ power adders and 2 classes for _2_ power adders? Why is there no class for _1_ power adder? I have a pretty quick car, but it's just a regular dailer driver with almost everything stock except for exhaust and a tuning device, but from the looks of this, I can either go up against full out drag cars with turbo+N2O or full out drag cars with S/C+N2O, haha. Is this just the norm or what? I could probably qualify in the top 16 or whatever, but there's really no incentive for someone like me to participate, and I think my type of setup is predominant within the community at-large (intake, exhaust, tune, pass emissions, drive to work, etc).

Suggestions, thoughts, comments? I would love to attend with The Speed Factor, seeing as they are sponsoring me in my racing endeavors, but I'd much prefer to have a class that's somewhat winnable (or competitive) for a regular, everyday car...

Edit: Oops, there are 2 classes for 2 power adders, but only one that applies to me (4cyl AWD). I'm guessing that all the restrictions on interior, windows, suspension, etc., are to help keep the Street Renegade class somewhat normal and devoid of plexiglassed, wheelie-barred race cars? That would probably help some as long as everything is enforced, especially the interior stuff.

Also, by exhaust, it says "turbo or muffler(s)." What does that mean? I have a full exhaust, but I'm not sure what this means for other cars.

STFU will have a couple of cars that are only making fun runs but will be in the low 8's. The MEGA MEET has a hatch that will be in the very low 10's possibly even a high 9 pass. The Speed Factor will be out with their new race hatch that has run high 9's in the past but not sure what will happen this Sunday. It is going to be an awesome event.

Hey Gio, what is DCSpeed running at IMSTAR? We put the challenge out to you guys for a 1/4 mile heads up race this Sunday. It will give a little excitement to the crowd to have the two promoters/organizers (Mid Atlantic MEGA MEETS and DCSpeed) compete in a friendly race.
