Reverse lights on inspection?

Reverse lights on inspection?
I've been trying to get a better understanding on this topic. I've seen people say that reverse lights are not required but if they are there they need to work. What classifies them being there? If they aren't wired/have no bulb is this good enough?

I do believe if they are removed from the vehicle completely, you're ok. Meaning socket removed etc. I'm not a state inspector.

Yes, you have to cut them at the wire. The housings can be there as "decoration" but if the sockets for the bulbs are there, they must have bulbs and must work.

Awesome thank you for the clarification. That should make things a bit easier. So if they see it doesn't work then they're going to ask to see the wires? Haha seems kind of weird. Oh well. Once again thank you, really appreciate it.

Correct. The bulbs have to be removed, and the wiring clipped.

Thanks a lot. I'm out of state right now but I'll definitely message him when I get back. It will be nicer not having to argue this with an inspector.

smokey requires payment in stolen pit puppies, so be sure to have one on hand.
