Default NEW COP/ CNP conversion for the SR20DE/T and KA24DE

I'll try this again. The old thread was closed by the mods because I pulled the body text. I pulled the trigger earlier than I wanted to, and decided to wait until I was a little more organized. Sorry for any confusion.

Would anyone be interested in a coil on plug or coil near plug conversion for their 240sx without having to shell out 1k+ for an AEM ecu? I have designed a system that allows the conversion of the ka24de and sr20de to coil on plug or coil near plug using the OEM ecu.

I currently have this running on my P11 and am still in the testing stages. But it is looking very hopeful so I am trying to drum up some interest. I plan to have some beta unit built around June time frame. In the mean time i'll be updating the progress here to keep anyone interested up to date.

I might be interested to see what you have. What are the advantages for your system other than being able to keep stock ECU? I have a KA-T with a Enthalpy ECU tune

The known COP benefits are widely established. The key items being better mpg (case by case), more hp, better spark, less susceptible to spark blow out, better throttle response, more reliability...

This conversion is designed around being able to use the stock ecu and the key feature being cost savings. So in your case, nothing would have to be done to your Enthalpy as it is compatible with my controller. There are a wide range of coil packs that have a very similar dwell time as the coils Nissan uses.

Also, one item I have been working on incorporating is knock detection. Allowing the user to see which cylinder has an ignition knock. This will allow for individual cylinder tuning.

Just a quick shot video after wrapping up the protoboard install.

Been a while since I updated. JKtuning is now supporting this project. If anyone is unfamiliar with them, they make the NismotronicSA tunable ECU for the FWD and RWD SR20 and KA24. Ive had the first few boards printed and assembled. Bench tests went well and one will be making its way to JKtuning for testing.

The FWD SR (DIS-SR) version will be ready in a few months. A RWD KA24 (DIS-KA) version is in the works and will follow suit. If anyone is interested please shoot me a PM.

Doesnt matter if its OBD1 or OBD2, as long as the coil dwell can be changed in the ECU via a chip like enthalpy or calum or plms...

First beta board has been built and is at JKtuning for testing. The next version is being printed now and includes a coil discharge feature. Basically if the dwell time is too large, the coil will discharge to keep from burning up.
